Unique and Fun Wedding Gifts
Mar.26,2012When you’re invited to a wedding, there are normally two things that have you worried: what you will wear and what you will bring for a gift. You are on your own when it comes to deciding what to wear, but the choice of what type of gift to bring does not have to be difficult. One of the best things you can do is to be willing to think outside the box. Every couple that gets married will get plenty of punch bowls and toasters; look beyond those typical ideas and find the perfect gift.
Gift cards may seem boring and dull, but you can find a way to make even gift cards fun. One idea that surely makes an impact is creating a gift card bouquet. This works great when you are doing a joint gift, like from a group at work or a social organization. Each person can bring in a small gift card and you can attach them to floral wire. Then you stick each of the gift cards in with a bouquet of flowers, real or artificial will work. This makes a cute display and will be much appreciated by the new couple as they are setting up their home and getting things started.
Another fun wedding gift is the marriage toolbox. Start with a large toolbox and add a few useful household tools. Things like a hammer, common screwdrivers, wrenches, and a pair of pliers. Then, what makes this gift unique and special is that you will add some marriage “tools” too. Get friends and family to write a tip, or tool, for keeping a marriage sharp. You can collect them in a small book. While the real tools will be useful, these marriage tools will be tips that the couple goes to again and again.
One thing every new household needs is cleaning supplies. Filling a laundry basket with some of your favorites is a fun gift that will save the new couple time and expense as they get started in their marriage. Don’t forget sponges, rags, and scrubbers too. You can add tissue paper and cellophane to give the appearance of a large gift basket too. This is one gift that will be useful and looks great on the gift table too.
As you can see, there are many gift ideas for a wedding that are more fun and useful than a toaster. You want to give a gift that is uniquely perfect for the couple that is getting married. If one of these does not work for you, perhaps it will at least get you started with choosing a gift that will be appreciated and remembered for years to come.
It can be fun to buy the happy couple gifts that are formal or impressive, but they are getting plenty of those. Your effort to secure something more practical will be noted and greatly appreciated.
