Wedding Gifts From The Couple’s List Or A Gift Not Listed? So you’ve looked at their wedding registry
and haven’t found any item on there that is ok a for your taste or funds.
Or you haven’t looked but know that you don’t care to give an asparagus
steamer, a toaster or a vacuum cleaner. Maybe you’d like to present the
happy couple with a more unexpected gift. The worry is how do you find something
they’ll like if it’s not on their registry?
Go broad. A gift card is appreciated by many. This way you can be sure they’ll be able to purchase the things they truly want or start a stash for the house or honeymoon they’ve been saving for. Be thoughtful. Create a book of memorabilia of their life as a couple and leave a pad of blank pages for them to continue. A framed wedding picture can serve as a decorative item in the newlyweds’ home. Give them a present that will endure beyond a bottle of wine and mean more to them than a toaster. Get Handy with DIY. A beautiful piece created to tantalize their distinct decorating tastes is never out of place. Maybe you can engage a local artist. The couple will be able to use it as a conversation piece for years in the future as something made especially for them. Pass it down. If you have bracelets and earrings, a handmade quilt or other family heirloom, this would be a good opportunity to pass it down. You might keep an old family tradition remembered, or create a new one. Honeymoon help. A new family, just starting out, is sure to appreciate when one offers financial support with their honeymoon getaway. Get in touch with family members before the wedding and find out about the details of the pair’s honeymoon. You might be able to financially help with their flight or give them a gift certificate for a restaurant that they are going to as a surprise wedding present. Give them what they enjoy. If this couple knows about wine, consider enrolling to be a member of their local winery. Wineries can send anywhere from 2 bottles or more a month. This way the couple can celebrate their happiness and give a toast to you for sending them such a thoughtful present. If they are big golfers, get them a certificate. A spa gift coupon for two would be a great gift for couples to relieve stress prior to or after the wedding. Clean up services. An inventive non-registry gift can be cleaning service. After all, who wants to clean their house when there’s so much honeymooning to do? The key in giving the best non-registry present is to consider the couple you are getting it for. Think long and hard and think about what makes these people unique, and you’ll find the best gift they didn’t ask for. Criss White is a professional writer on baby, wedding, and parenting topics.
